Arbour Lake Calgary was established in the early 1990s and remains the only community in Northwest Calgary built around a private lake, a 10-acre freshwater lake reserved for residents. Swimming, boating, and trout fishing take over in summer, while skating and ice fishing bring the lake to life in winter, all maintained by the resident-run Arbour Lake Residents Association.
The community is bounded by Country Hills Boulevard to the north, Crowchild Trail to the south, Nose Hill Drive to the east, and Stoney Trail to the west, giving it strong connectivity along with mountain glimpses on clear days. Streets curve into quiet crescents, with pathways linking pocket parks throughout the neighbourhood.

The 10-acre lake is the centrepiece, with swimming, boating, and fishing in summer, skating and ice fishing in winter. The Arbour Lake Kids Club, funded in part by the Alberta Sport, Recreation, Park & Wildlife Foundation, runs each summer for children ages 7 to 12.
